林書豪小老弟吉爾派崔克昨日怒砍38分、14籃板，雙創個人生涯最佳，帶領籃網在經過2次延長賽之後127比122逆轉擊敗近況欠佳的快艇，中止7連敗。
籃網打完前3節落後13分，第四節靠著吉爾派崔克的單節20分，將比數逼平，第一次延長賽吉爾派崔克火力持續加溫，個人連得4分，籃網取得5分領先優勢，但快艇賈瑪克勞德在最後10秒投進追平三分球，兩隊繼續加班。
第二次延長賽，吉爾派崔克先來一記中距離跳投，然後再完成三分打，攻下5分後帶領籃網在驚滔駭浪中奪下本季第5勝。
現年26歲、193公分的吉爾派崔克，與林書豪同樣是在選秀會上落選，或許是兩人的出道軌跡有點相同，所以林書豪來到籃網之後特別照顧吉爾派崔克，並且多次指點他，而派崔克也視林書豪老大，兩人感情特別好。
今年夏天，籃網幾乎是出清陣容進行重整，吉爾派崔克是少數被球團留下來的球員之一，年薪僅98萬美元相當廉價，不過，艾金生曾表示，吉爾擁有出色的投籃技巧，以及一顆冷靜的頭腦，關鍵時刻總能製造驚喜與奇蹟，攻防兩端的能力足夠改變戰局。
